Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus Sees High Demand at Launch

December 19, 2011 Leave a comment

The Galaxy Nexus just started up its sale on Thursday and within this short period, there are reports that states that the phone is running out of stock at some Verizon stores. According to Android and Me founder Taylor Wimberly, his local Verizon branch ran out of stock just hours after the phone went on sale. BGR is also informing the high-demand for the mobile on the day of its launch, with people lining up outside the store in Washington D.C. It is to be noted that, it has been just one week after Samsung released a number of commercials poking fun at Apple fans that line up for the launch of a new iPhone.

If you do happen to get turned away because of stock issues, there are a number of places selling the Galaxy Nexus besides Verizon. Best Buy has  some (and is apparently eager to sell them), as well as Costco. You should also check out Amazon. Though you might have to wait a few days for the Etail giant to ship the phone to you, it’s currently selling the phone for $150 on a two year contract, half the price that Verizon is offering.

December 12, 2011 Leave a comment

The Galaxy Nexus is superb excited about, but the release is delayed. This is turning out to be a real pain. Nobody is able to figure out when the Galaxy Nexus is supposed to be launched. At first it was heard that the launch will be around December 9th, and later the news was declined, and then so many different dates is heard. At present, however, Droid-Life is claiming to have found the needle in this incredibly annoying haystack. Obviously, a innumerable different sources have informed that Verizon is finally letting is employees in on the launch date: December 15. Yet this is the Galaxy Nexus people are discussing about, so one can never be sure about when he/she can grab a glance until some sort of official sentence is received. Even then, things are looking a little murky.

Galaxy Nexus Gets The iFixit Teardown Treatment

December 1, 2011 Leave a comment

GSM Galaxy Nexus is going under the knife. Disassembling the Galaxy Nexus seems to be simpler than is the case with some other devices, but it still is  not a easy accomplishment. Things start off simply enough with Nexus’s the NFC antenna/1750 Ah battery, which is sure to make buying replacements and spares less pleasant than usual. Have a look at the phone’s innards: 5-megapixel camera module, WiFi radio, RAM and more. iFixit’s newest teardown is so new that it hasn’t fully been fleshed out yet. Those who live and breathe power amplifiers and motion processing units will want to keep wailing on the refresh key, but that hasn’t stopped the teardown team from getting some great shots of the Nexus’s mostly-blue innards.  The outward shot of Galaxy Nexus is also great. Is it not?

It is crystal clear that it is a great pain to replace these. But then again, you wouldn’t dare let anything happen to your precious Nexus would you?

Leaked Timeline Points To Post-Black Friday Galaxy Nexus Launch

November 2, 2011 Leave a comment

Few devices have inspired a following quite as pursuit as the Galaxy Nexus, and the fans of this device will be happy to come to know that a recently leaked Verizon document pegs Samsung and Google’s recent collaboration with a post-Black Friday launch window. A fistful of Droid-Life’s sources says that the Galaxy Nexus is slated to unveil the week after Black Friday,  idea which is supposedly corroborated by an image of a Verizon time-line.

It is not easy to state the expectation of consumers, but it appears to be a promotions schedule that lays out when each of Verizon’s handsets will get their holiday marketing push. It resembles Droid RAZR and it will be part of Verizon’s holiday spotlight through Christmas, while the poor Rezound has to make do with a mere two weeks in the limelight. At the same time, the marketing effort for Samsung’s entire portfolio, included Galaxy Nexus apparently kick off after Thanksgiving, and could run straight through the holidays alongside the RAZR. It is also said that Verizon has probably consumed a pretty penny to snatch the Galaxy Nexus before anyone else in the U.S., and it is no wonder that it too may be getting a pronounced promotional push to drive sales.

The timeline does not provide strong confirmation (Verizon could easily start their marketing efforts in advance of the launch to build hype), but the timing surly seems to make sound reason. A post-Black Friday launch means people are already on the spur of the moment to make some purchases, and it gives Verizon enough time to enhance the Galaxy Nexus in the run up to your gift-giving holiday of choice.
